Great comparison of EAS clients

July 16th, 2010 Magnus Björk No comments

As mentioned at You had me at EHLO you can find a comparison of Exchange Active Sync clients at Wikipedia. I’m putting together a “wiki” of my own witch will be more model specific and I will post it here as soon as I’m done with it.

Multiple Exchange Accounts in Windows Phone 7 Series

May 31st, 2010 Magnus Björk No comments

Maybe you have already heard this but it was new to me…

Surfing the web today I came across this article where Joe Belfiore, Microsoft Corporate Vice President for Windows Mobile, confirmed that the new Windows Phone 7 Series will support multiple Exchange Active Sync accounts.

I think this is great news and I’m looking forward to get back to a Windows based phone again!

Wow! TechDays is a great event!

March 25th, 2010 Magnus Björk No comments

TechDays Sweden 2010 is over and I’m back home. I’m really pleased with the people I meet, MEET and the event it self!

My session about Exchange 2010 transition went really well and I had a great audience. The session was recorded and I will come back to you with a link to the video when it’s public.

I was also interviewed for a podcast, you find the recording at Technet Edge.

If I only had one wish about TechDays 2011 it would be that it’s extended to at least three days (so we could get more Exchange content).

MVP Summit here I come!

February 12th, 2010 Magnus Björk No comments

Tomorrow I’m leaving for my very first MVP Summit in Redmond. I’m really exited and I have huge expectations. I will travel and stay together with a dear friend and very skilled consultant, Martin Lidholm. Unfortunately you will probably not see too much of the stuff from the Summit here on the blog (yet) but I promise you that I will share all that I can!

And no, I won’t miss a single Swedish hockey game in the Olympics, I’m just going to be closer when Sweden beats the rest!

So Redmond you have been warned! :-)

Rollup 1 for Exchange 2007 SP2 released

November 22nd, 2009 Magnus Björk No comments

Today Microsoft released Rollup 1 for Exchange 2007 SP2. A KB with all updates included in this rollup is available here (KB 971534).

Take your time to read the blog at the team blog too

The bits you find at this link

A feature I like in this rollup is a check for Internet connectivity to avoid problems with services that need to check certificate revocations list, if your server doesn’t have access to Internet you get a warning about that. Personally I think this will avoid a lot of trouble.

Happy patching!

Exchange 2010 and BlackBerry

October 21st, 2009 Magnus Björk No comments

I have seen quite a lot of question about Exchange 2010 and BlackBerry. Yesterday Research In Motion (RIM) announced that they will support Exchange 2010 within 30 days of the global release of Exchange 2010.

Vacation and vacation mistakes

July 16th, 2009 Magnus Björk No comments

This week alone I have heard from two different companies that their Exchange servers didn’t work. In both cases it’s been due to the fact that someone has patched Exchange. Patching/updating is a good thing but there are some things to think about!

  1. Only update Exchange with an account that has permissions to admin Exchange (it’s recommended to use the same account as you used to install Exchange)
  2. Update the roles in this order:

A BIG day in my life!

July 1st, 2009 Magnus Björk No comments

Today is a big day for me! One of the greatest days yet…

I am out sailing with my dear family in the archipelago at the west coast of Sweden and when text messages started to drop in on my phone with congratulations I had to check my mail and to my great surprise I found that I have been awarded with the MVP award!

I want to thank a lot of people for the opportunity to work hard and now finally reach one of my goals in my career. I must start with my wife, Sofia, she has been a great support and one of the biggest reasons for me to be able to achieve this! For the rest of you this will be namedropping and I hope I don’t forget anyone of you but if I do I just want to say THANK YOU!

Liselotte, Martin, Göran, Christer, Jon, Max, Bitte, Tommy, Joachim, Paul, Lasse, Michael, Anders, Per, Ulf and many more!

I would also like to congratulate some other friends of mine who was awarded or renewed, Martin Lidholm, Anders Bengtsson, Stefan Schörling, Marcus Murray, Patrik Lowendahl, Christoffer Andersson, Björn Axell, Andreas Stenhäll, great work guys!

You find my MVP profile here
